general information for artists and designers

As a professional or semi-professional artist, designer, craftsperson, etc., you are welcome to donate your self-created, contemporary work after an open call – there are no limits to your creativity. For events or exhibitions, the size and transportation options should be appropriate. It can also be older, as long as it is not in a used condition. Please read the home page, this page and the relevant application page linked below and proceed accordingly. Everything will be kept confidential and not shared. If you change your mind, you can withdraw at any time.

Basically, you can participate in three areas: exhibition in locations with an online auction, the live auction at an event or the online auction. At the moment there are only open calls for the online galleries in Hamburg, Berlin and Munich. Other large cities will follow. The application link will follow under the next heading. These online galleries are primarily used to select the locations for the exhibitions, but also for possible subsequent events in the cities. The application process is different for our three areas of participation. Further details can be found in the Open Call or at the event or exhibition. At the moment there is no event and no pure online auction.

As soon as there is an art offer, e.g. for an exhibition, we will post it on all three social media channels, which will also appear here on the web. You should then also publish the post everywhere. You should respond to inquiries or comments. If it is not auctioned live, you would have to write the current highest bid, if it came by DM or otherwise, in the comments.

Please choose only high quality works of art or design objects, preferably of different types, suitable for the gastronomy in the location. Packaging, material & shipping costs will be reimbursed by bidders. The minimum bid includes the reimbursement of the mentioned artist costs (or 10% of the bid, whichever is more) and at least 50€ donation. The artist costs include the purely financial costs of material and packaging and extra shipping, not the labor. The total amount of the minimum bid should be about 1/2 of the normal selling price. You are also welcome to offer sets to reach the amount. If a set of handicrafts or similar does not reach the amount, the minimum donation is 20€. The amount of the reimbursement is the result of a vote of all those who have given their opinion. It is not higher, as it was decided that the income should go to the NGOs.

In short: Minimum donation (from 50 € (20 €)) + shipping + material/packaging = minimum bid (= 1/2 retail price), e.g. minimum donation 50€ + shipping 12€ + material/packaging 38€ = minimum bid 100€ or for a more expensive work e.g. retail price at fairs/markets 800€: Minimum bid 300-400€.

Please note the copyright – the work must be yours. The photos must also be yours or you have the full and transferable right to use them.

By applying, you agree that your attached works/photos and your information about them may be published. The same applies to photos and films taken at events or exhibitions on site. It will also be presented afterwards with links on our channels. All participating creatives will be permanently added to our online list of participants.

Exhibitions with online auction

At the moment there are open calls for the Hamburg gallery, the Berlin gallery and the Munich gallery. Other large cities will follow. We are particularly interested in: Bremen, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, Radolfzell/Konstanz on Lake Constance, Cologne, Frankfurt, Karlsruhe & Bayreuth. In the online galleries of the cities we are already collecting willing artists for the exhibitions, but also for possible events in the cities. Further information on the area can be found under Exhibition with online auction. The artists can live somewhere else, but they should be happy to come there. It is primarily intended for local artists because the locations are not exhibition experts and the artworks should be brought to them.

If someone would like to participate in several locations, this can be noted at the end of the gallery of the location (if desired with a link) or three more photos can be sent for the location in the appropriate format.

We are already collecting willing artists in the online galleries of the venues, see above for exhibitions, but there are also open calls for specific events if there is still a need.

Online auctions – There is no open call for this at the moment

There will be open calls for this again when the accounts have grown. Please take a look at an example of the offer posts before applying. The online offers can be seen in the feed below as it has been a while. There is also an example of the print-on-demand option for online auctions, which we will discuss further below.

Print-on-Demand Information

As detailed in Application for online auctions, there is a possibility to offer print-on-demands of art prints on paper and canvas. Therefore each print is limited to 20 pieces and has a time limit of 8 weeks.

The donation is of course made directly to the climate protection organization and amounts to 30 – 80 €.

The print shop sends directly to the new owners. It is carefully selected, is climate neutral and produces as sustainably as possible on recycled products.

This offer is especially for photographers, illustrators, digital artists and those from far away. But all others are welcome to join in and send a short application with their pictures via DM.
